“... and if a person takes in so many secrets, where do they all go? If he’s heard about so many bad things that people have done, do their bad things start to manifest in him?”

TTWBG Alpha Over

Posted by Bill under book

As you may have noticed, The Trouble With Being God is no longer available on Lulu.  As stated earlier, the book was only available for a limited time to allow some people to download the book for free and to gain reader feedback / edits.  I’m counting on feedback from all of you to help in the editing process.  So if you did download the book and have any suggestions, please leave them below.

In the meantime, the book will be going back into a final editing stage.

If you missed your chance, but are still interested in receiving a copy of the book, please leave a comment stating so.

Last Day to Download TTWBG for Free

Posted by Bill under book

Today’s the last day to download TTWBG for free before it goes back into another round of edits to prepare it for shopping around.  Thanks to everyone who’s given their feedback so far - that’s what putting this out there was for.  If you have any comments, suggestions, or edits you’d like to recommend, please send them over.

Longest First Chapter In a Novel By Me

Posted by Bill under book

Seeing as how the first book in the Horizon Trilogy (my latest project) is only the second novel I’ve written, this isn’t much of a record… but I finally started the actual writing of the book tonight and the first chapter is already a whopping two pages - twice as long as the first chapter in TTWBG.

I’m definitely seeing an improvement in my writing already over the last book… I guess that’s what happens when you spend eight years on one book.  Hopefully this next one is done before 2016.

And speaking of TTWBG.  I’m nearing 200 downloads of the book now from Lulu and I’ve only received one comment, and that was basically a “your book sucked” comment (although it was constructive).  Honestly, I would prefer that if you don’t like the book, like Anders didn’t I would love to know why.  If you liked it, I’d like to hear that too.  If you read a page and thought it was a waste of time, tell me why.

The book is out there right now for free so I can get feedback from readers and grow it from there.  Think of it as a beta release of the story.  You’re all beta testers, and I need some constructive feedback so I can launch.

Peace out.

Looking for Feedback

Posted by Bill under book

Now that over 150 people have downloaded my debut novel, The Trouble With Being God, I’m curious as to what you think.  If you’re coming to the site after reading some of the book, what are your thoughts or reactions?

If you like it, I’d love it if you’d recommend it to others.  If you hate it, recommend it to people you don’t like!

And if you’re feeling very generous (or just are sick of reading the e-book version), I’d love to sell my first copy.

Writing vs. Videogames

Posted by Bill under Videogames, book

My original plan for tonight was to play some games, then finally start writing my next book.  Well, thanks to Amazon’s e-mail today with my coupon for a free download of Fable 2 Pub Games (because of my pre-order for Fable 2), it started and ended with the playing games.

The good news: I got 20 gamer points.

The bad news: I’m massively in debt (in the game).

And the saddest news of all is that I actually paid for Braid, and meant to play it, but got way too sucked into those damn pub games.  The card one (Fortune’s Tower?) is by far the best.

I would be a horrible gambler.  Casinos would love me though!
